Alice Springs is Australia’s most inland town, being close to the furthest point from the coast which is around 200km North West of Alice Springs. Although there are many unsealed roads connecting Alice Springs to other Australian settlements and towns the Stuart Highway is the only fully sealed road in the area.
Alice Springs is one of the remotest places in the world, but it’s no country town. Alice Springs is a major communications and commercial centre. It has most of the services you would find in any Australian city.
